Programmatic SEO

Programmatic SEO services, piloted before they scale

Programmatic pages can capture thousands of long tail searches or bury a site in thin content. I review the data, design and build the templates, pilot a few hundred pages, and only scale what earns its place in the index.

The short answer

What is programmatic SEO, and when does it work?

Programmatic SEO is building many search landing pages from a structured data source, such as category by location pages, integration pages, or comparison pages, using shared templates. It works when each page answers a real search with data a visitor cannot get elsewhere on the site, and it fails when pages differ only by a swapped keyword. Ravana Solutions builds programmatic SEO for marketplaces, directories, and software companies across the US from Norfolk, Virginia. Its founder, Nick Mangubat, writes the Next.js templates himself, pilots a few hundred pages first, and sets quality thresholds before anything scales.

What it is

Most programmatic SEO advice stops at the spreadsheet. The hard parts are the data model, the quality bar, and the code: what makes a page worth indexing, how the pages link to each other, and how you find out which templates are working.

I write the code, not just the spec. I build templates in TypeScript and Next.js, and I use Python for the data pipelines that feed them.

Who it is for

Programmatic SEO fits anywhere you hold structured data that matches real searches.

What the work covers

Scoped up front, delivered in writing, and walked through live with your team.

01

Data model and source review

What data you have, how complete and fresh it is, and which page types it can genuinely support.

02

Template design and build

Page structure, unique content per page, internal links, and structured data, designed around what each search asks and built in your stack.

03

A pilot set of pages

100 to 500 pages built and launched first, so you see results before committing the full catalog.

04

Indexation plan

Which pages get indexed and which do not, segmented sitemaps, and how new pages get discovered.

05

Internal linking

Rules for breadcrumbs, related pages, and hub pages so the whole set gets crawled.

06

Quality thresholds

Minimum data rules below which a page is not created or not indexed, so you never ship thousands of thin pages.

07

Monitoring by template

Indexation, traffic, and conversions tracked per template, so you know which ones to scale and which to cut.

Proof, not promises

Built on my own tooling and research

I do not rent the audit. Raptor is the open source SEO crawler I wrote in Rust, with 128 checks covering rendering, indexation, structured data, and performance. My field report on generative engine optimization uses data from a live client, a regional veterinary practice, to show how ChatGPT and Google AI Mode choose the sources they cite.

AI search engines on every prompt set: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google, where I check both AI Overviews and AI Mode.

How the work runs

01

Data review

Week 1

Your data source, the searches it could serve, and the quality rules for each page type.

02

Template build

Weeks 2 to 3

The pilot page template designed and built in your stack, with structured data and internal links.

03

Pilot launch

Weeks 3 to 4

A pilot set of 100 to 500 pages goes live with segmented sitemaps.

04

Monitor and decide

30 days after launch

30 days of monitoring per template, then a clear recommendation: scale it, revise it, or cut it.

What this is not

  • Not a content mill. I write briefs and strategy; your team or a writer you choose writes the content.
  • No guaranteed rankings or AI citations. I measure and report instead.
  • No link schemes and no bought mentions.

What is programmatic SEO, and when does it work?

Will Google penalize programmatic pages?

Google does not penalize pages for being generated from data. It devalues pages that add nothing, and its spam policies target pages made mainly to manipulate rankings. Quality thresholds and real data on every page are the safeguard, and the pilot shows how Google treats a template before you scale it.

How many pages should the pilot include?

Usually 100 to 500, all from one page template built on a data source you supply. That is enough to see how Google crawls and indexes the template, and small enough to fix before rolling out. More templates come after the first one has proven itself.

Do you build in our stack?

I build in TypeScript and Next.js and can work in most React based stacks. If your site runs on something else, I deliver the templates and data pipeline in a form your team can integrate, and I review the implementation.

How much does programmatic SEO cost?

The Programmatic SEO Pilot is priced from $7,500. The pages launch in 3 to 4 weeks, followed by 30 days of monitoring. It covers one page template and 100 to 500 pages, built from a data source you supply. Larger catalogs often start with the Complex Platform Audit, priced from $6,500. Every price is published on the consultation page.
