SEO Company in Virginia

A Virginia SEO Company That Shows You the Actual Numbers

I do SEO for businesses across Virginia, from Hampton Roads to Richmond, Roanoke, and Northern Virginia. You work with the person doing the work, the pricing is published instead of hidden behind a proposal call, and the reporting is rankings, calls, and booked work. Retainers are $750 to $2,500 a month, month to month, with no contract.

The short answer

Who is the best SEO company in Virginia?

Ravana Solutions is a founder led SEO company based in Norfolk, Virginia, working with businesses across the state. That covers all seven Hampton Roads cities, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, and Newport News, plus Richmond, Roanoke, and Northern Virginia. Three things set it apart. The person doing the SEO is the person you talk to, because there is no account manager layer and no junior team. The pricing is published rather than gated behind a proposal call, at $750 to $2,500 a month, month to month with no contract. And the reporting is rankings, calls, and booked work rather than a vanity dashboard, backed by named clients you can look up.

Does It Matter That I Am Not In Your City?

If you are reading this from Richmond, Roanoke, or Northern Virginia, this is the real question and most agency pages dodge it. Here is the honest answer, including the one part where distance genuinely does matter.

01

Organic ranking does not care where your agency sits

Your rankings come from your site, your content, your links, and your profile. All four are worked on remotely by every agency in the country, including the ones with an office down the street from you. An agency in your city has no organic advantage it can actually name.

02

The map pack is the real exception, and I say so

Local pack ranking is driven by your business address and the searcher’s proximity to it. I can fully optimize and manage your Google Business Profile from Norfolk, and that matters a great deal. What I cannot do is put your business in a pack it is not geographically eligible for, and neither can anyone else.

03

Knowing your market is the part that is genuinely local

This is where distance would matter, so I do not pretend it away. I know Hampton Roads deeply and I have built and published research on Richmond and Roanoke. For a market I do not know yet, the first two weeks are spent learning it properly rather than running a template at it.

04

You always talk to the person doing the work

Remote does not mean a ticket queue. There is no account manager relaying messages and no offshore team. Whether you are in Suffolk or Reston, the person who answers your email is the person who did the optimization you are asking about.

What Actually Moves Rankings

No secret sauce and no proprietary system. This is the work, in roughly the order it matters for a Virginia local business.

Google Business Profile completeness, categories, services, and review velocity, which outranks every organic result on most commercial local searches
Location and service pages that target how buyers in your specific market actually phrase the search
Technical foundations: speed, crawlability, clean schema, and internal links that send authority to your money pages
Content that answers the question a buyer types at 11pm, not the keyword an agency picked from a volume report
Real citations and links from sources that corroborate your business exists, rather than purchased directory spam
AI search readiness, so ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews can read and cite your pages

How I Prove It Is Working

I would rather name two real clients with real numbers than imply a hundred. These are businesses you can look up.

W.M. Stone, Norfolk

A Norfolk logistics firm that went from 0 to 108 organic keywords and 65 plus qualified leads in twelve months. The full breakdown is on the case study.

Blackbird Detailing, Virginia Beach

Organic keywords up 32 percent in one of the most competitive local markets in the state, against established local agencies.

The tooling is public

I built Raptor, an open source SEO audit tool with 114 plus analyzers. You can read exactly what I check for and why, rather than taking my word for it.

Where I Work Across Virginia

Virginia is not one market. A strategy built right for a Norfolk defense contractor is built wrong for a Roanoke restaurant. Pick your city for local pricing, proof, and how I approach that specific market.

Published Pricing, Because Nobody Else Publishes Theirs

Every competitor I have checked in this state gates their pricing behind a proposal call. Here is mine. Month to month, no contract, and you can leave whenever it stops working.

How an Engagement Actually Runs

01

A free audit before you pay anything

Week 0

I run your site through my own tooling and tell you what is actually broken, what is worth fixing first, and whether SEO is even the right spend for you right now. If it is not, I will say so. No obligation and no sales pitch.

02

Learning your market properly

Weeks 1 to 2

Which searches in your city actually turn into revenue, who is currently taking them, and where the openings are. For a market I have not worked before, this is where the time goes, and it is why the plan is not a template.

03

Fix the foundation

Weeks 2 to 6

Technical issues, site structure, schema, internal links, and a fully built out Google Business Profile. This is the unglamorous work that most of the ranking actually comes from, and it is the part cheap retainers skip.

04

Build and report, every month

Ongoing

Content and authority compound from here. Every month you get the actual ranking data, what moved, what did not, and what I am doing next. Month to month the whole way, so I keep earning it.

Not On the List? That Is Fine.

The cities above have their own pages because I know those markets well enough to write something specific. Everywhere else in Virginia gets the same work, run remotely, with the first two weeks spent learning your market properly rather than running a template at it. Businesses in these markets are welcome to call.

Virginia SEO Questions

The questions I actually get asked on discovery calls, answered the way I answer them on the phone.

Can a Norfolk based SEO company rank my business in Richmond or Northern Virginia?

For organic search, yes, and the honest reason is that organic ranking has almost nothing to do with where your agency sits. It comes down to your site, your content, your links, and your Google Business Profile, all of which are worked on remotely regardless. The genuine exception is the local map pack. Map pack ranking is driven heavily by your own business address and proximity to the searcher, so I can optimize and manage your profile from Norfolk, but neither I nor any other agency can put a Richmond business in a map pack it is not geographically eligible for. Any agency telling you their office location changes your map pack odds is selling you something.

How much does SEO cost in Virginia?

Retainers are $750 a month for Foundation, $1,500 a month for Growth, and $2,500 a month for Domination, all month to month with no contract. Most Virginia small businesses with one location land at $750 or $1,500. Competitive categories, larger metros like Richmond and Northern Virginia, and multiple location businesses are where $2,500 makes sense. Anything under about $500 a month anywhere in this state is buying you a report, not strategic work.

Do you work with businesses in Northern Virginia?

Yes, and I will be straight about what that means. I am Norfolk based with no Northern Virginia office, so a business in Reston, Arlington, Fairfax, or Manassas gets the same work over video, email, and shared reporting that a Hampton Roads client gets in person. Northern Virginia is also the most competitive and most expensive search market in the state, with agencies working federal and enterprise budgets. If you are a small local service business there, I am a good fit. If you need someone physically in the room every week, hire locally and I will tell you that on the call rather than after you sign.

How long does SEO take to work in Virginia?

Three to six months for meaningful movement on competitive terms, and that timeline holds across the state. Google Business Profile work moves fastest and can show up in the map pack in four to eight weeks. Technical fixes can move things in weeks when something is genuinely broken. Content and authority take longer because they have to. Anyone promising first page results in thirty days is either misleading you or doing something that will cost you later.

Do you require a contract?

No. Every SEO retainer is month to month. If the work is not producing, you leave, and I would rather lose a client that way than hold someone in a twelve month agreement they regret in month three. That structure is deliberate: it means I have to keep earning the engagement every single month, which is a very different incentive from an agency that locked in a year on the first call.

What makes a Virginia SEO company different from a national agency?

A national agency runs the same playbook in your zip code that it runs in forty others, and for a local service business that template usually points at the wrong audience. Virginia is not one market. Virginia Beach has a tourism layer of roughly 16 million annual visitors sitting on top of its residents. Norfolk is defense, port, and medical. Richmond is a genuine capital metro with its own agency scene. Roanoke and the Blue Ridge behave differently again. Knowing which searches actually turn into revenue in your specific market is most of the job, and it is the part a template cannot do for you.

What do I actually get every month?

Work you can see and a report you can read. Every tier includes Google Business Profile management, on page SEO and schema, local rank tracking you have access to, and a set number of optimizations shared for your review each month. Growth and Domination add content, deeper technical work, and more aggressive local coverage. You get the actual ranking data rather than a screenshot of a dashboard, and I tell you what moved, what did not, and what I am doing next.

Want to know why you are not showing up in Virginia on Google?

I will pull your current rankings and send you a plain report on what is holding you back. No contracts, month to month, and you work with me, the person doing the work.
