Tidewater Handyman Services had everything a good contractor needs except a way to be found. More than 20 years of experience, bonded, insured, Class A licensed, and a full slate of work from drywall repair to full home remodels. What they did not have was a website. So when a homeowner in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, or Chesapeake pulled out their phone and searched for a handyman near them, Tidewater simply was not there. Every one of those searches went to a competitor, and the owner never even knew the job had been up for grabs. A business running on word of mouth alone has a hard ceiling, and this one had hit it.
What we built.
I built Tidewater their first real website and made sure the people who need them can actually find it. The site loads fast, works on a phone, and lays out every service they offer, from home repair and drywall to decking, painting, and full remodels, with a clear way to request a quote on every page. Then I did the part most handymen never get to: the local SEO. I structured the pages around the exact searches homeowners run, set up and optimized their Google Business Profile, and targeted Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake so they show up when someone nearby is ready to hire. If you run a local service business and you are still leaning on word of mouth alone, this is what getting found on Google actually looks like.
